Most of my published content on Youtube is succinct/has a purpose.

Most of the time though, my mind is full of rough drafts and occasionally 100-page dissertations on some random topic I happen to dive deep into. None of it is for some productive monetizable purpose – it really is just how my brain works. E.g.:

  • if I drop children off at an extracurricular activity, I pick up on the social dynamics and unspoken norms, and before I know it, I’m pondering how youth sports came to be this costly thing, digging up stats and researching the history.. and studying the clash between different parenting approaches in this realm.
  • Or, I make/watch a video, think about how it’s monetized, how the incentive structures work behind creation, and then before I know it – another 20-page outline of my thoughts on conflicts of interest.
  • Or most recently, dissecting music theory and marveling at a quartal stack as background music to cue the entry of a morally gray character. In anime. Because, obviously that is important. (Meanwhile, procrastinating on actual deadlines)

In that spirit, I have left an open-ended category of “notes” on my website for these thoughts. You can expect the same mind thinking through them, from that analytical and hopefully balanced/intentional lens.. but probably less prescriptive, more open-ended, and more interesting vs informative.
